146.620 Autopatch
The Orchard 146.620- MHz repeater has a controller board and autopatch module that allows the amateur with a radio and DTMF pad to make local phone calls from
the handheld or mobile VHF radio. This can be quite handy for those without cell phones, or for those areas without cell phone coverage. Members have
had good results while hiking or exploring the mountains above Kelowna.
These are the procedures you'll need for placing a phone call;
To Make a Local Call;
Enter 'C' + 1 + 10 digits.
Enter 'C' + 0 (zero) to hang up.
To Make a Call from the Autodialer List;
Enter 'C' + 2 + code.
Enter 'C' + 0 (zero) to hang up.
The 'C' character exists on your DTMF pad, usually in the right-hand row, but check your own radio or hand mike to confirm.
On the popular Wouxun handheld the keys on the top row correspond to A, B, C, D.
So therefore, the downward arrow is your 'C' key.
