Orchard Repeater Upgrade

March 24 & 25
The 146.620- MHz Orchard Repeater was upgraded with new radios, antennas, controller, and autopatch.

Kelowna Museum Radio Exhibit Opening

March 31
The temporary exhibit at the museum was upgraded, and improved. The opening for the new permanent display was held on Saturday, March 31

Okanagan College Half-Marathon

April 1
O.C.A.R.C. club members were on hand in the cold and rain to provide communications. The Race Director was kept informed of the status of race participants.

Cedar Creek Geotechnical Survey

April 10
Attendance at this Tuesday's coffee klatch was lighter than normal. The drilling for the geotechnical survey required for the proposed new tower at the Cedar Creek club station location went on as scheduled.

Ski2Sea Race

April 15
This race extends from the downhill and cross-country ski areas on Big White Mountain, right down to the shores of Okanagan Lake.
This year 34 members were on hand, spaced throughout the race course.

D-Star Mast Party

May 20
The new two section mast was carried to the roof, and readied for installation.

Crystal Mountain Brush Clearing Party

June 14
A work party was assembled to clear brush along the road to the proposed new, higher location for the Crystal Mountain repeater.

Field Day 2012

June 23 - 24
Raymer Bay Regional Park once again was the location for the club's Field Day activities. The wet June weather was an unseasonal addition.

Tower 3 Construction

July & August
Construction of Tower 3, from pouring the concrete to erecting the tower, to mounting the first antenna.

Crystal Mountain Repeater Hut Construction

August & September
The new communications hut for the top of Crystal Mountain is built, and transported to it's new home.

Crystal 2 Equipment Installation

September 15
A large group of volunteers travelled up to the top of Crystal Mountain to install the tower, solar panel, and all the equipment required to get VE7HWY on the air.

VA7PL 10 Meter Beacon Installation

October 17
Ron VA7PL and John VE7JWS go to the Crystal Mountain repeater building to permanently install the 10 meter beacon equipment
