Repeater Coverage Maps

The repeater pages now have coverage maps for 50 kms and 150 kms. Big White also has a 5 km for handhelds. Dilworth has a 25 km for handhelds.

Most of the club repeaters are done, we are still working on the rest of the list.

Basic License Course - Feb-Apr 2020

The OCARC club is not running a course this spring but there is a course being offered by NORAC.

The NORAC Amateur Radio Basic Qualifications Course is intended to provide students with the knowledge and understanding necessary to become certified as Canadian Amateur Radio Operators, in accordance with the regulations of Industry Canada. This program is organized and instructed by volunteers associated with the North Okanagan Radio Amateurs Club, and will run Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, February 26th 2020 through April 5th.

Kelowna Ham Club Theft

Orchard City Amateur Radio Club recently had some equipment stolen. Please be on the lookout for;

  • Honda 3000 watt Generator model EU3000i SCA S/N EXGF1153231
  • (x4) Yaesu model FT-7800R Dual-band Amateur radios S/N 7J5690257 / S/N 7J690253 / S/N 7J690251 / S/N 7J690258
  • These radios were taken in blue canvas-type bags with power supplies, antennas, and other accessories.
  • The bags had the club OCARC logo on them.

They were stolen from a club storage facility in late Oct 2019.

This equipment was in storage for use during emergencies such as floods, forest fires, etc.
