The Big White Winter Rally (December 5-6) wrapped up another successful year, and a huge part of that thanks to the incredible efforts of local amateur radio (HAM) volunteers. Nearly ten dedicated individuals were on hand, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants in this popular winter event.

What started as a light dusting of snow in the morning quickly transformed into a beautiful, sunny afternoon, allowing for a fantastic rally experience.

Three volunteers even stepped in to rescue stranded spectators when their vehicle went off course while heading to their campsite. The grateful recipients of this assistance expressed their immense appreciation for the help!

A special shout-out goes to Polina and Ivan Sergeyenko, who orchestrated the radio volunteers and did a fantastic job coordinating their efforts. This event perfectly showcases how amateur radio operators can utilize their communication skills to significantly improve safety in areas where cell phone coverage is limited.

Well done to everyone involved – a fantastic display of community spirit and the power of HAM radio!
